spring has sprung.....

I love the smell of Lilac in the morning. it reminds me of my grandma. she wouldn't have the flowers in the house( bad luck apparently, I fill the house with it and buggar the luck!!) but had a 10ft hedge of it all around the house.



my beautiful infant 'smoke bush', it is just about the last thing to show buds.


This I adore!!! lady's mantle. It is magical how it turns drops of water into diamonds. I never tire of it's beauty





If anyone asks me if I believe in "Magic" I reply in the positive, I'm a gardener, and see magic all around my garden everyday of every year in a never ending cycle.and it still amazes me.

I do love violets and violas, and i know it's cheating , but these silk ones are so cheery I couldn't resist.

Dorset has just the best clouds, we don't get thunder and lightening much here, but then i think we where spoilt because we had sooo much thunder and lightening in Hastings, and i do love a bit of flash and bang.
but yesterday Dorset outdid itself, we had hailstones and lots of crash bang.

Sometimes it is so cosy in the workroom at night.
the last photo is very satisfying, is shows the work hanging up ready to be started, a suit to alter and the fabric to make up some samples, once I've drafted the pattern. ah despite the trauma's ,life can be good.

you see the roll of paper is a special one, as mentioned I'm no longer working in an office. I am now a freelance pattern maker!!! again this may not mean alot to folks out there but boy it means the world to me, and what's this to do with a roll of paper? you may well ask?
well , as a pattern drafter I need paper, and the best and obvious choice, for me anyway, was a roll of dot & cross paper from morplan, all 200 metres of it. And it arrived today, very swift service, I only ordered it yesterday at 2.30 pm.

so that makes it official, I have the paper and this signifies the start of my self employment, the start of my spending hours in my fabulous pink workroom, no more 9 to 5( more like 8 to 7 !!!!, at the least)no more commute,

YYYYYEEEEEHHHHHAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRR AND YIIPPPEEEDOOO DAHH!!!!
THIS IS ONE HAPPY LADY!!!

hee hee A VERY HAPPY EASTER....

I have moaned aplenty about my 9 to 5 job in an office, not a particularly horrid place, but for me , at first a necessary thing, and then feeling like I've been imprisoned.
I take my hat off to all who work in offices, and if you enjoy it ... GREAT!!! if like me, you don't , you have my sympathy.
personally, I find it stifling. it saps my creativity and joy , and I always end up very miserable and a dress size bigger, after I've been working in one.
However, That is all about to change.
On the 18TH MARCH 2009 I handed in my notice!!!! and today is my LAST DAY!!!!

OH JOY, OH JOY!!! MY HEART WILL BURST WITH JOY!!! SO HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL AND I'LL SEE YOU THE OTHER SIDE OF THE EASTER BREAK WITH LOTS OF EXCITING NEWS!!!!

my father in law has died suddenly. this is not good.
